Volvo Cars Purchasing is ultimately responsible for the selection of all Volvo Cars' suppliersand has the responsibility for the procurement of all production and non-production material and services to Volvo Cars.

The supply of materials and services- to the right quality, in the right quantity and on time- is essential to the smooth running of the company and to match our customer's expectations.

The purchasing function within Volvo Car Corporation is divided between Production Purchasing and Indirect Purchasing.

The Indirect Purchasing department are divided into three sections; Facilities, Machinery & Tooling, Services and Logistics & Operational development. We work together with our stakeholders to create and deliver supreme value together with our suppliers.

We are now looking for a Commodity buyer to Machinery & Tooling section.

Main responsibilities:

To drive and develop the purchasing work within selected commodities
Responsibility for - in cooperation with the internal customer - development and implementation of commodity strategies
Perform year to year commercial negotiations
Responsibility for market testing, sourcing and negotiations
Daily administration work such as ordering, handling of agreements etc
Responsibility for optimizing the supply base
Responsibility for identifying and implementing cost reductions in cooperation with suppliers and internal customers
Travelling between the VCC sites to meet suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Desired qualifications:

Technical or Economical university education (or equivalent)
Experience from engineering
Experience from commercial work
Experience from commercial negotiations and legal knowledge
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in both English and Swedish.

Strong business acumen combined with high integrity
Strong ability for teamwork and leadership skills
Ability to prioritize your own work and deliver on time
Result oriented
