PPL is currently looking to strengthen its Process Excellence Department with the appointment of a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager of Process Excellence. The aim is to support the growth of the manufacturing operations and ensure world class manufacturing capabilities.
The company has committed, at Senior Management levels, to introduce LEAN manufacturing principles into the business - The initiative started in 2008 with good results and expectations for further results are high.
The company is now seeking to appoint a Project Manager to shape and take forward this programme and lead the initiative across the organisation. Reporting to the Director of Process Excellence, the main objectives of this role will be to:

Build the foundation for lean implementation at PPL

Collect and evaluate improvement suggestions from the sites and help define the Company Improvement Portfolio.

Coach, support and lead lean improvement projects at the manufacturing sites in Scandinavia

Train staff in the LEAN philosophy and lean tools

Define Appropriate Key Performance Indicators to achieve substantial productivity gains

Track benefits, costs and risks of the lean program
PPL is seeking a professional with excellent change management skills, strong leadership and consultative abilities to drive this initiative. The new incumbent will have responsibility for operating across the entire supply chain, from development, production, through batch release, QA, packaging, logistics, etc, and he/she will interact with the full spectrum of staff at all levels.
In greater detail, the new manager will:

Build and maintain a network of lean Ambassadors

Develop continuous improvement (Kaizen) loops, for all parts of the organization

Secure knowledge transfer of methods, tools and best practices between sites

Define relevant KPI's and secure ongoing capture of these

Develop PPL specific training materials and maintain the improvement Tool Box
This is an outstanding opportunity to shape and influence the progression of an already significant and successful business. The successful candidate will be located at the PPL Scandinavian site in Malm?, Sweden and also supporting Hiller?d, Denmark.
THE CANDIDATE
At least 4 years experience with optimization of the manufacturing supply chain, preferable, but not limited to the pharmaceutical or chemical industry. Further more, operational management experience from a high quality and regulated production environment.

Strong Project Management skills and a skilful change manager

Strong presentation and communication skills

Thorough understanding of lean principles and tools

Financial skills, e.g. experience with building business cases and/or benefit tracking models

Strong facilitation and consensus-building skills

Fluent English (spoken and written)
The candidate is expected to be a motivating team player and effective problem solver. It is also important that the candidate have good interpersonal skills, by being an effective listener, considering multiple solutions to problems and is supporting team decisions.
