The Institute of Medicine announces a two-year position as researcher in the area of Air pollution and Health. It is a full-time position starting at May 1, 2012 or close to that date.

TASKS: We are looking for a person with extensive and well documented knowledge and experience in the epidemiology of Air pollution and health, and case-crossover studies in particular. The primary task is to perform a case-crossover study on air pollution and incident myocardial infarction in the Gothenburg area. This includes data analysis, interpretation, and scientific publication. Other tasks will be performing and/or participation in other air pollution studies, e.g. a cohort study of men from Gothenburg.

QUALIFICATIONS: The qualified applicant should have basic training (BSc, MSc or similar) in medicine, chemistry or statistics and a PhD degree in Medicine, Environmental Health or Environmental Epidemiology. Documented experience of case-crossover studies is required. Experience in time-series studies is a merit, as well as experience in SAS programming and analyses. Post-doc visits at institutions internationally renowned in the area of air pollution and health, experience in exposure assessment and experience in SAS programming and analyses are also valuable merits. Excellent skills in English are required. The successful candidate should also be cooperative, flexible and be able to work independently.
