Founded in 1951, Stockholm International School is here to serve the children of the international community as well as Swedish citizens looking for an international education. The school is an independent, open-admission, co-educational Kindergarten to 12 day school governed by a Board of Trustees. All instruction is in English. The educational program is modeled after the International Baccalaureate guidelines. The school year is mid-August to mid-June and has a minimal instructional period of 180 days divided into two semesters. The school has enjoyed strong academic success and is going through a stage of rapid expansion.
Beskrivning av arbetsuppgifter/ Duties/Responsibilities
The teacher is responsible for the following:
* Teaching Primary Swedish Language.
* Contributing to the development and implementation of the Language B and IPC curriculum.
* Communicating regularly with parents.
* Be an active and contributing member of the School.
* Participating in the full range of professional activities in the school.
* Actively contributing to the operational needs of the school.
Beskrivning av kvalifikationer/ Qualifications, Attributes and Experience the teacher is expected to have:
* Teaching qualifications.
* Qualifications in the area of Swedish Language Education.
* Experience as a teacher.
* Excellent communication skills in English and Swedish.
* Good leadership skills in a classroom setting.
* The ability to establish rapport with adults and students.
* The ability to work effectively in a team
* A pleasant and friendly personality.
* The ability to function effectively under pressure.
* The ability to show initiative and work independently.
It would be desirable for the successful applicant to have a working knowledge/experience of the International Baccalaureate Program, the International Primary Curriculum or their equivalents. Experience working with students from diverse cultures and countries would be an advantage.
