The Machine Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a "Team Assistant".

Description of position/department

Description of main responsibilities

* Make travel arrangements
* Book, organise and prepare for meetings and workshops
* Register, organise and file various information/documents
* Process invoices and reimbursements
* Coordinate agendas and keep track on deadlines
* Various correspondence
* Handle phone calls
* Welcome visitors
* Preparatory work for incoming employees 

Working hours are standard office hours, but occasionally you will need to be flexible and work evenings due to meeting arrangements and hard workload.
Qualifications

* Solid experience from a similar role
* Well-organised and structured
* Positive and confident person with good interpersonal skills
* Calm, even in a stressful atmosphere
* Cope well with heavy workload
* Proficient computer skills
* Used to Macintosh computers or willing to learn
* Experience of working in an international environment is essential
* Excellent oral and written Swedish and English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantageWhat ESS can offer

The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.

The position will be filled July or August 2012.

The European Spallation Source ESS AB will design, build and operate a multi-disciplinary, large-scale research infrastructure based on the world's most powerful neutron source. ESS will provide scientists with unique and powerful neutron scattering instruments for the study of a large range of materials - from polymers and pharmaceuticals to membranes and molecules. The ESS project is partnered by 17 European countries, and hosted by Sweden and Denmark. The ESS will be built in Lund, Sweden, by a collaboration of European scientists and engineers. ESS is planned to produce the first neutrons by 2019. When the facility is in full operation 2025, ESS has around 450 employees.
